Caravan Speciality Coffee Roasters

Caravan Coffee Roasters is based at Lamb Works, an 8,500 square foot redeveloped Victorian warehouse on North Road in Islington, London. The site houses the eco-friendly Loring Smart Roaster, quality control lab, coffee school, bakery, drinks lab, events space and head offices for both the restaurant and roastery businesses.

At Caravan Coffee Roasters they believe in challenging and raising the standards and expectations of the UK specialty coffee scene. Their aim is to ultimately provide the consumer with a superior product in their cup, sourcing the world’s best beans and roasting them to specific and consistent profiles so to ensure each coffee’s individual characteristics are fully nurtured.

The roaster sources green coffee from single farms and specialty estates as far as Ethiopia, Colombia and Rwanda (to name just a few) where the focus is quality, provenance, sustainability, freshness and fair relationships with the growers. When they find a coffee that they love, they then take the time to enhance the roast profile to bring out the best flavour characteristics.

A home-brewed quality coffee is far less expensive than cafes

...Whilst the purse strings may need to tighten, a better quality home-brewed coffee is still far less expensive than buying individual drinks on the go. Over the last few years, many have taken the opportunity to improve their home brewing skills, and now with the equipment and know-how to recreate that authentic coffee shop experience from home, are enjoying cheaper quality coffees. With cafe coffees costing anything from £2.50-4.00 each, and with a bag of 250g quality coffee costing between £7.00-12.50 and providing you with enough to achieve up to 15-35 brews per bag (depending on brew method and strength preferences), the savings and better quality coffee are both there to be enjoyed.

If this isn't you, there really is no better time to start. Better yet, at GUSTATORY you’ll find plenty of affordable multi-roaster coffee subscription packages, all featuring the most exciting roasters from Europe, UK, Australia and USA. It also won't be long until you discover a new favourite. All coffees are roasted fresh for us as part of our monthly subscription delivery schedules.
