Halvo Speciality Coffee Roasters

Born in 2021, Halvo have been on a mission to make their industry more environmentally friendly to the planet, whilst also bringing delicious and amazing coffee to like-minded people. During the unprecedented times of 2020, Bailey White found himself drinking a lot more coffee at home than usual, and started to notice the amount of plastic bags, non recyclable packaging, and lack of environmental support in the coffee industry. Thinking there must be a better way, he founded Halvo and set out to make coffee more sustainable for everyone.

Halvo believe we should put our planet, and people before our profits. When starting out, Halvo made sure to make this a core foundation in their business, and are proud to be one of a small handful coffee roasteries in the UK to donate a minimum of 1% of their sales to 1% for The Planet; use plastic-free packaging for their bags and packaging; plant 4 trees for every kilogram of coffee they roast; donate 20p for every kilogram of green coffee they buy to World Coffee Research, and; actively reduce their carbon emissions and where they can't, they'll offset these, becoming carbon neutral.

A home-brewed quality coffee is far less expensive than cafes

...Whilst the purse strings may need to tighten, a better quality home-brewed coffee is still far less expensive than buying individual drinks on the go. Over the last few years, many have taken the opportunity to improve their home brewing skills, and now with the equipment and know-how to recreate that authentic coffee shop experience from home, are enjoying cheaper quality coffees. With cafe coffees costing anything from £2.50-4.00 each, and with a bag of 250g quality coffee costing between £7.00-12.50 and providing you with enough to achieve up to 15-35 brews per bag (depending on brew method and strength preferences), the savings and better quality coffee are both there to be enjoyed.
