Bare Bones Chocolate Makers

Bare Bones Chocolate is a micro-batch, bean to bar chocolate company based in Glasgow. As chocolate and speciality food enthusiasts, the founders' wanted to create their own brand that was built on incredible chocolate with impeccable detail through every process. Bare Bones make their chocolate in their workshop in the centre of Glasgow in batches of around 30kg at a time, roasting their cacao on a modified Giesen coffee roaster. Having engineered some of their equipment from scratch, Bare Bones get the best possible quality for their batch sizes. Find out more about the Bean to Bar process here.

Cacao is one of the most complex, delicious and fascinating foods in the world. It is one of the few foods that is both fermented and roasted – creating unparalleled flavour profiles. Handcrafting the chocolate from a raw cacao bean through to a finished bar allows Bare Bones to control every step, and are proud to be one of the very few UK producers who craft from bean to bar.

A home-brewed quality coffee is far less expensive than cafes

...Whilst the purse strings may need to tighten, a better quality home-brewed coffee is still far less expensive than buying individual drinks on the go. Over the last few years, many have taken the opportunity to improve their home brewing skills, and now with the equipment and know-how to recreate that authentic coffee shop experience from home, are enjoying cheaper quality coffees. With cafe coffees costing anything from £2.50-4.00 each, and with a bag of 250g quality coffee costing between £7.00-12.50 and providing you with enough to achieve up to 15-35 brews per bag (depending on brew method and strength preferences), the savings and better quality coffee are both there to be enjoyed.

If this isn't you, there really is no better time to start. Better yet, at GUSTATORY you’ll find plenty of affordable multi-roaster coffee subscription packages, all featuring the most exciting roasters from Europe, UK, Australia and USA. It also won't be long until you discover a new favourite. All coffees are roasted fresh for us as part of our monthly subscription delivery schedules.
