Neuburger Betont 2019 Wine

A wine that is close to Markus' heart. Neuburger is one of these grapes that is hard to crack - if you talk to many Austrian growers it's really tough to work with and often the result is boring. It wasn't until 2014 when Markus found the perfect technique to transform this ugly duckling into an electrifying mineral bomb. Since then he ferments and ages his old-vine Neuburger in neutral concrete eggs, allowing the wine to fully immerse the flavor of the skins. Unlike his 'Skins and Stones' the Neuburger 'Betont' is lean, focused and to us, candidate for 'White of the Year'.
