Costa Rica San Franscisco Community Coffee

The coffee of the Tarrazú region is one of the most recognized in Costa Rica and represents 40% of the national production. Most of the plantations are under shade, with different trees in the area, ensuring positive biodiversity and preserving various habitats.
The Community Coffees program has been running with Coope Tarrazu since 2012, and was designed to help promote the individual characteristics of the coffee in ‘micro-zones’ of the Tarrazú region such as this one from the San Francisco community. 40 producer families have contributed to this lot of community coffee and have done since the 2016, producing 250 bags each year.
Proud to be a part of the Community Coffees program the people of this community have a passion for coffee unlike other parts of Costa Rica and they strive for better quality and sustainability. This naturally processed coffee has the fully body and sweetness that you would expect but with a berry-like acidity and a lingering cola aftertaste.
