Colombia Tophat Coffee

If a single-origin espresso first thing in the morning is your thing, you’ll love Tophat. A spectacular coffee that’s equally at home served from a cafetiere.

Coffee with vibrant notes of Muscovado, Plum, Cacao and Apple, our Tophat is a great example of classic ‘washed processed’ Colombian coffee for a clean and crisp taste.

Popayan is located in the department of Cauca at 1.700 M.a.s.l. The region's topography is perfect to grow exceptional coffee. The so-called Meseta de Popayan is sheltered by the Andes mountain range which helps generate homogenous climatic and altitudinal characteristics. The result is a balanced cup profile with floral, fruity and caramel notes. Our importer Cofinet collaborated with approximately 65 growers who contribute to this programme and with whom they have built long-term relationships. This programme also encourages farmers to focus on quality and based on quality assessments, our importer can provide up to 20% premiums above the market price.

  • Origin: Cauca, Colombia

A premium home-brewed coffee is still less expensive than a cafe

Issue: With the continuing economic uncertainty that COVID brings, many are choosing to tighten the purse strings and are replacing luxuries with cheaper, more basic products. For more: Comunicaffe International
