    Tips for Tea Connoisseurs

Sun Moon Lake Formosa Jade is a lightly oxidised oolong tea, made from the tea leaves of Qing Xin cultivar tea plants grown on the hills of the picturesque Sun Moon Lake in Central Taiwan. Qing Xin is literally translated into 'Green Heart' in Mandarin Chinese and it is one of the four main cultivars grown in Taiwan (i.e. Qing Xin, Qing Xin Da Pan, Si Ji Chun, Jin Xuan cultivars). One of the signature Taiwanese oolong tea - Dong Ding - is traditionally made from Qing Xin cultivar as well.

Delicately hand-picked and processed, our  Sun Moon Lake Formosa Jade Oolong Tea offers a highly aromatic infusion with distinctive floral (magnolia, orchid), cooked petit pois, raw almond, vanilla and brioche notes. Besides the unique concoction of flavours, Sun Moon Lake Formosa Jade Oolong Tea also presents an incredibly pure and clean mouthfeel in its gentle and delicate liquor, which makes this tea as a perfect choice of daily oolong tea.

With its purity and gracious character, our Sun Moon Lake Formosa Jade Oolong Tea nearly evokes an image of wild orchid flowers growing on the cliffs of misty mountains. A real delicate beauty that will impress even the most discerning palate of oolong tea drinkers. For oolong tea connoisseurs who particularly appreciate jade oolongs made from Qing Xin cultivar, we also suggest tasting our Alishan Qing Xin Jade which has been lightly oxidised and roasted, to taste the difference.

A must-add to your oolong tea repertoire.

As with all the teas, oolong tea also offers us health benefits to increase our sense of well-being. Several studies indicate that oolong tea is a rich source of antioxidant polyphenols and it may well be just as beneficial as green tea to promote weight loss and cardiovascular health by reducing high blood pressure and cholesterol.
