Colombia La Serrania Decaf Coffee

La Serranía is translated as “The Mountain Range”, which is where our Colombian Decaf is grown. The coffee is grown at altitude, in isolated mountains, within the central range of the Andes, extending through Pitalito, Acevedo, Palestina, Timaná, and Suaza.

This wonderful coffee is the result of more than 50 producers, committed to quality and excellence, working tirelessly to grow the highest quality coffee in some of the remotest areas of the world.

La Serrania is carefully hand-sorted and processed at each individual farm, with special attention paid to the drying process to ensure consistency, uniformity, and a clean cup profile, which you can taste in each cup of this amazing Decaf.

This particular lot is a Natural EA Decaf Coffee, processed at the Descafecol plant in Manizales. The decaffeination process at this plant uses solvents derived 100% from sugar cane, plus mountain water, to remove 99.7% of the caffeine naturally present in the beans.

The beauty of the Natural EA process is that it helps preserve the original flavours of the coffee while adding fruity notes and complexity to the cup. With notes of fruity, vanilla, berries and banana, a soft acidity and long aftertaste, it’s definitely not your regular decaf!

With only 1,570 sacks (each weighing 70 kg) produced per year, this is a rare and unique coffee which we will only stock for a short amount of time, so before it is too late, make sure you try some of this wonderful Decaf.
