Peru La Huaca Filter Coffee

Product Description:
At the 39 Steps Coffee roastery, we always aim to have a coffee like La Huaca as part of our offering. Its deliciousness is based on delicate floral flavours, and sweet chocolate aftertaste. This washed coffee works perfectly served as a filter, it is especially refreshing during the hotter summer months.

The Story:
The La Huaca high-grade coffee is a blend of day lots from the La Huaca village in the Huabal district. This Peruvian coffee has a very distinct cup profile which makes it the perfect filter coffee. This is due to the micro-climate in the area, and the humidity as well as the deep red, African-like soils. All of the producers pick and process their coffee themselves. Once harvested, cherries are de-pulped and fermented for around 24 hours. Usually, in bags, as very few producers in La Huaca have tanks. Then the specialty coffee is washed and placed on a patio to dry. This usually takes around 20 days as it takes a little longer than average to dry coffee in this area.

A premium home-brewed coffee is still less expensive than a cafe

Issue: With the continuing economic uncertainty that COVID brings, many are choosing to tighten the purse strings and are replacing luxuries with cheaper, more basic products. For more: Comunicaffe International
...However, whilst the purse strings may need to tighten, a premium home-brewed coffee or tea is still less expensive than buying individual drinks on the go. If this isn't you, then there really is no better time to start, and better yet, at GUSTATORY you’ll find plenty of affordable options from our range of independents to support you in doing just that.
