Nyakabugi AA Kenya Filter Coffee

Mango, white peach, Lime.

This fruity coffee from Kenya is a real winner, especially for fans of light bodies: fruity flavours of mango and white peach are complemented by the sweet notes of lime meringue pie. Also perfect to serve as a dessert!

Our Nyakabugi AA coffee comes from Kenya from Nyakabugi Farm, located north of Nairobi on the road to Mount Kenya. The SL28 variety is grown at 1900m. SL28 coffee plants have broad leaves with copper-coloured tips, large beans, and an exceptionally complex flavour profile with a very high quality. The variety is very popular among coffee lovers, as it comes close to Geisha coffees in terms of quality and also flavour profile.

The region around Nyakabugi Farm is known for the excellent quality of its coffee and the spectacular scenery of the mountain range. During harvest time, the cherries are picked by hand and delivered to the processing station the same day. At the Nyakabugi Processing Station, part of the Nyakiri Farmers' Cooperative, the cherries are carefully selected before the hulling process begins. During this process, unripe and overripe cherries are removed. During this process, and also during fermentation, the cherries are treated exclusively with fresh river water. The coffee is then sun-dried on raised beds, and once it has reached the correct moisture content, it is taken to the dry hulling station for further processing.
