Manifesto Speciality Coffee Roasters

Thoughtfully sourced speciality coffee roasted in Scotland, Manifesto's discoveries are roasted for balance, rather than acidity. A super ethical and transparent brand, Manifesto pledge to source at least 50% of their coffee through traders and importers that are willing to provide FOB pricing data as a minimum level of transparency, as well as maintain always having at least 2 coffees that they are able to disclose the farmgate price for; Manifesto strive to increase their level of traceability and transparency as much as they're able to within the confines of that which limits them.

Manifesto go further, too, in which they believe that coffee packaging that claims to be 100% recyclable or compostable isn't telling you the full story; the reality is brands benefit more from stating '100% recyclable' than they do from stating '100% recyclable if you separate the valve and the zip and drop the component parts in the appropriate bins at your local recycling centre' ...and that's a problem. With all coffees supplied in beverage cans, benefit from super air-tight storage for your beans, light postage and super recyclable for the earth. Besides, the actual coffee is great too.

The coffee industry is in crisis. Informed purchases are needed

Issue: Coffee prices are in crisis, which threatens the very existence of many coffee producers, and so, the future of coffee globally. For more: GUSTATORY on Sky News Radio (Interview)
Our Answer: Informed purchasing of coffee from the independent coffee roasters available through GUSTATORY's coffee subscriptions are encouraged. Through direct-to-source relationships, roasters are able to protect their supply chains from the effects of price volatility as they form special relationships with producers. These relationships also protect producers as roasters often commit to fixed term and fixed price contracts, which give producers certainty. This certainty is what producers need in order to not only survive but thrive, committing to sustainable practices and addressing other global problems that are threatening the industry such as climate change.

Make their commitment your commitment. Support independent coffee roasters and you’ll be making a difference before you even have your first cup of coffee.
